Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Ivica Dacic said today during talks with Cypriot Foreign Minister Markos Kyprianou that Serbia is willing to improve police cooperation with Cyprus.
Dacic said that that especially refers to the fight against organised crime and expressed readiness to sign a bilateral agreement on police cooperation between the two countries as soon as possible.
The First Deputy Prime Minister also thanked Cyprus for its principled stance in the decision not to recognise Kosovo-Metohija’s independence.
Kyprianou said that Cyprus’ support to Serbia over Kosovo rests on the respect for the principles of international law, one of the main being respect for a country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He underlined that Cyprus will continue to support Serbia on its road to the EU.
Dacic and Kyprianou voiced readiness to continue and strengthen the traditional friendship between the peoples of Serbia and Cyprus.
