Appointing this team, Djelic expressed satisfaction with the fact that a renowned, energetic and experienced team agreed to get to grips with the great challenge of returning knowledge to the top of Serbia’s priority list.
Members of the Ministry’s new team are experts from the key scientific and technological fields for Serbia, and as of September they will be joined by experts from the social sciences and humanities, experts for cooperation with the economy, and the leader of the project for building the National centre for popularisation of science, technology and innovation, Djelic said.
State Secretaries of the Ministry of Science and Technological Development will be Snezana Pajovic and Milos Nedeljkovic.
The Sector for basic research will be headed by Assistant Minister Tibor Sabo. He carried out this function during the mandate of ministers Dragan Domazet and Aleksandar Popovic as well.
Radosav Cerovic was appointed Assistant Minister in charge of the Sector for Technological Development. Assistant Minister Miroslav Veskovic will head the Sector for Nuclear Safety and he will be in charge of developing strategies for multidisciplinary research projects in Serbia.
The Sector for development of science and research personnel will be led by Assistant Minister Nada Dragovic, while the Sector for international scientific and technological cooperation will still be led by Assistant Minister Viktor Nedovic.
Secretary of the Ministry will be Biljana Spasic, and former ministers of science Dragan Domazet and Ana Pesikan were appointed special advisors to the minister.
Katarina Petrovic was appointed advisor to the deputy prime minister for promotion of science and technological development.
