Government supports establishment of community assembly of municipalities in Kosovo

The Serbian government made a decision at its session today to support the establishment of a community assembly of municipalities in Kosovo-Metohija.
Stemming from the fact that the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija is an integral part of the Republic of Serbia, all state organs are under a constitutional obligation to represent and protect Serbia’s state interests in Kosovo.
The government has decided that following Kosovo’s illegal declaration of independence, it is necessary for Serbs in Kosovo to get organised institutionally and the formation of a community assembly of municipalities in Kosovo will provide security to Serbs and all those living in the southern province.
The Serbian government has affirmed that the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohjia is an unalienable part of the single and indivisible constitutional, national and legal order of the Republic of Serbia.
