"The Serbian Ministry of Justice prepared 24 laws. Systemic laws have been adopted, and the procedural laws are currently under public debate, in which we established very good cooperation with the OSCE and the Council of Europe", said Minister Stojkovic. He stressed that the professional assistance of international experts in some fields is very important for the process of harmonisation of domestic legislation with international legal standards.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Justice, Minister Stojkovic informed the rapporteurs that the Court of the State Union of Serbia-Montenegro has been established and its president elected. The Draft Decree on the State Agent has been prepared, and it will be forwarded to the Serbia-Montenegrin parliament for adoption soon.
"In his latest report, the CoE Secretary General gave positive evaluation of the changes in the Serbian judiciary", said Stojkovic. He voiced hope that the report that will be submitted to the CoE Parliamentary Assembly will be even more favourable, read the statement.
