The National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) decided at its session today to send documentation and responses to three requests made by the Office of the Prosecutor and one request made by Chambers, and to release six witnesses from the obligation of keeping official secrets.
According to a statement issued by the National Council, positive responses were made to seven requests by the defence which related to submitting documentation needed for preparing defence before the ICTY.
From now on, the National Council will hold regular sessions every two weeks at which it will respond to requests made by the ICTY prosecutor’s office and the defence of the accused.
