The conference in Brussels will look at economic challenges in Eastern Europe and countries of the former Soviet Union, as well as possibilities for economic development, increasing productivity and reducing poverty in these regions.
Djelic will chair the first panel discussion, and also scheduled to speak at the conference are renowned economic experts, such as World Bank Regional Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Shigeo Katsu, World Bank Chief Economist for Europe and Central Asia Pradeep Mitra, director of the Moscow Institute for the Economy in Transition Yegor Gaidar, Professor of economics at the London School of Economics Willem Buiter, World Bank Vice President and Chief Economist Justin Yifu Lin, and senior partner of the Bruegel network Andre Sapir.
