Protest notes sent to Liberia, Sierra Leone

The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today sent protest notes to the governments of Liberia and Sierra Leone over their recognition of unilateral independence declared by Kosovo-Metohija.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, the protest notes convey that the Serbian government does not accept the unilateral declaration of independence by Kosovo-Metohija, and warn of the consequences this illegal act could have for security.
The protest notes state that the unilateral declaration of independence by Kosovo is a grave violation of international law and that Serbia demands those countries recognising Kosovo’s independence to re-examine their stances.
Liberia recognised the illegally declared independence of Kosovo on May 30, and Sierra Leone on June 13, this year.
