According to a statement issued by the Defence Ministry, Spasojevic stressed at the meeting that Serbia is actively participating in the training of personnel in OPCW member states.
He said that the Defence Ministry is giving full support to achieving the aims of the OPCW, above all, the prevention of the production and spread of chemical weapons.
Pfirter expressed satisfaction with the quality of projects underway, and the possibilities of further cooperation in areas covered by the convention.
It was jointly stated that the Serbian Defence Ministry and OPCW have well developed cooperation, and there was special mention of the work being done at the Nuclear Chemical Biological Defence Training Centre in Krusevac and the poison control centre at the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade.
Spasojevic and Pfirter also examined specific possibilities for improving further cooperation, concludes the statement.
