Government adopts bills ratifying SAA, energy deal with Russia

The Serbian government adopted today the bill on ratifying the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) between the EU countries and Serbia.
During the voting on the bill, under the government’s Rules of Procedures, the session was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic in line with authorisations by the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica and ministers from the DSS-NS coalition were against putting the SAA on the agenda and they left the session while voting on the SAA was taking place.
During the continuation of the session, which was chaired by Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, the government unilaterally established the bill on ratifying the Agreement between the Serbian and Russian governments on cooperation in oil and gas industries.
A Decree amending the Decree on methodological principles for citizen registration was adopted.
The government passed a Decree on the use of funds for non-commercial agricultural farms in 2008.
The Information on the awarding of scholarships for primary and secondary school students from Kosovo-Metohija was adopted. The scholarships will be granted to 20,000 students from Kosovo-Metohija as of September 2008.
The government adopted the national youth strategy and the national sustainable development strategy.
The programme on changes and amendments to the programme of distribution and use of subsidises in the fields of agriculture, forestry and water management for 2008 was adopted.
The government also adopted a Decision on organisation and execution of public works of interest for the Republic in 2008 which were applied by April 20 this year.
The government passed a Decision on establishment of the National committee for the environment and children’s health as well as the Decision on the network of social protection institutions whose founder is the Republic.
The government gave consent to the Rule book on amendments to the Rule book on the list of medicines that are prescribed and dispensed which are covered by compulsory health insurance.
Government members gave consent to the programme of geological works for 2008.
