The Serbian Ministry of Health stated that the programme for long-term financing of housing loans for this year envisages subsidies to the amount of RSD 550 million for 1,000 flats for health sector employees whose monthly salary is below RSD 100,000 net.
The statement adds that funds planned by the Law on budget will be used to buy or build housing units. Based on set criteria, the Ministry will draft a list of 1,000 health sector employees and submit it to the National Housing Loan Insurance Corporation.
Loan beneficiaries must be under 45 years of age and the repayment period is 30 years.
The maximum loan amount is €40,000. The beneficiary is required to provide a 5% down payment, whereas another 20% will be provided from the Serbian budget. The remaining 75% will be provided by the bank.
Another condition is that beneficiaries and their spouses are not in full possession of other flats, and if they own some real estate, the loan for purchasing a new one will be granted only for the difference in the price between the old and the new real estate.
The deadline for applying is June 1, 2008, adds the statement.
