Serbian Minister of Telecommunications and Information Society Aleksandra Smiljanic has met separately today with the ambassadors of Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco as part of preparations for Serbia's participation at the international conference "ITU Telecom Africa 2008" on May 11 in Cairo.
The meetings with the ambassadors were organised in line with the government’s Conclusion and in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry.
The ambassadors expressed satisfaction with the forthcoming visit of a Serbian government delegation led by Smiljanic to the "ITU Telecom Africa 2008".
The officials expressed wish for further cooperation in various fields of telecommunications and information society.
During the visit to Cairo, Smiljanic will meet with ministers of African countries in charge of telecommunications and information society whereas Serbian businesspeople will meet with their African colleagues.
Representatives of the Ministry said they appreciate the positions of African countries in respecting international law.
The preparations for Serbia’s participation at "ITU Telecom Africa 2008" will continue with meetings with ambassadors of Ghana and Guinea, according to a statement.
