The statement adds that the Ministry has agreed to encourage the young from the Diaspora to apply for and take part in Universiade, since this will be the largest sports event in the world in 2009 and requires a huge number of volunteers.
The organisation of such an event implies the engagement of over 10,000 volunteers, who will also be promoting the various cultures and differences of countries they come from.
The Universiade is a unique opportunity to present Serbia in the best way to the whole world, reads the statement and adds that during this prestigious competition, Belgrade will be host to 12,000 participants from 170 countries, who will compete in 21 sports and over 300 disciplines.
