Inaugural session of joint EU-Serbian committee, commission

The Serbian government’s EU Integration Office stated that yesterday in Belgrade the joint committee for implementation of the agreement on a facilitated procedure for issuing visas and the joint commission for implementation of the readmission agreement held inaugural sessions.
The statement adds that EU and Serbian representatives, taking part in these bodies, shared information on the current implementation of these agreements, which were enforced on January 1, 2008.
According to the provisions of the agreements, adopted in 2007, the joint committee and the joint commission are to monitor implementation of the agreements, propose amendments, share information on protocols for implementation of the readmission agreement, solve disputes related to these agreements and determine guidelines needed for uniform implementation of the agreements.
The committee and the commission should hold joint meetings occasionally to discuss issues important for implementation of the agreements and reach the most suitable solutions, adds the statement.
