Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met today with Turkish Minister of National Defence Vecdi Gonul. During the meeting, Kostunica stressed the significance of today’s signing of an agreement between Serbia-Montenegro and Turkey on cooperation in the field of defence industry.
Kostunica said that scientific cooperation is of particular importance, along with other forms of cooperation, and that it will contribute to successful integration and admission of Serbia-Montenegro to the Partnership for Peace.
Gonul said that the Agreement represents a framework for further improvement of cooperation between the two countries’ defence industries. Stressing that Serbia-Montenegro is very important for security in the region, Gonul said that Turkey supports its efforts to join the Partnership for Peace.
Both officials agreed that Serbia-Montenegro and Turkey have good relations and they voiced readiness to further improve these relations.
