Speaking at a press conference, Djelic said that a pro-European government, following the elections on May 11, will have to adopt a set of regulations for fiscal and property decentralisation in Serbia, which is possible under the Serbian Constitution, but this area is yet to be regulated by law.
Adoption of the law on public property local will finally give local self-governments the right to use their property, said Djelic and added that he considers that regulations in the area of direct investments should also be changed in order to provide a further incentive to foreign investors.
He said that it is necessary to accelerate the process of European integration and added that only a pro-European government can achieve candidate status for Serbia to join the EU and guarantee a better life for the Serbian people.
According to Djelic, if political stability is not achieved then potential investors will avoid an unstable country since they have 210 other countries to choose from.
Responding to the question if future functionaries should submit evidence of assets, Djelic said that he absolutely agrees that there should be access to such information and he will be the first one to provide information about his assets, adding that he did not acquire assets through his political career.
Jesic expressed expectation that in the forthcoming elections citizens will vote for security and accelerated EU integration, which will provide new foreign investments and a better life in Serbia.
During his stay in Indjija, Djelic visited the construction sites of companies Trade Unique and Terra Production in the city’s industrial zone.
