Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Zoran Loncar met yesterday with Jorgen Grunnet, the Special Envoy of the Council of Europe Secretary General to Serbia-Montenegro and head of the Council of Europe Belgrade office, to discuss cooperation between the Ministry and the Council of Europe.
The two officials discussed solutions for decentralisation of power and local self-government in Serbia's new constitution, as well as cooperation between the Ministry and the Council of Europe in preparing a code of conduct for Serbia's civil servants and setting up an ombudsman's office.
Grunnet pledged the Council of Europe's readiness to step up cooperation with the Ministry.
