Serbia sends protest note to Japan over Kosovo recognition

The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent today a protest note to the Japanese government over its recognition of unilateral independence declared by Kosovo-Metohija and Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic ordered that Serbian Ambassador to Japan Ivan Mrkic be immediately withdrawn.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the withdrawal of the Ambassador is in line with the Ministry’s action plan, adopted at the Serbian government session.
The Ambassador to Japan is to leave the host country within 48 hours after delivering the protest note and return to Belgrade for consultations until further notice, adds the statement.
