In a statement the ministry expresses its dissatisfaction and regret that the Centre’s leadership did not allow Minister for Diaspora Milica Cubrilo to address the members and state her proposals for future relations between the Centre and the ministry, development projects and cooperation.
The ministry stresses that such unprofessional behaviour towards the relevant ministry is impermissible and is a precedent in the relations of any organisation, even a non-governmental one, towards a state organ.
By ignoring the ministry’s request to include the minister’s address on the agenda, the Centre has thrown the good relations between these two institutions into doubt.
It is impermissible that the Ministry for Diaspora is not consulted concerning the appointment of new leadership of the Centre of Emigrants of Serbia, bearing in mind the inter-related activities with the Diaspora and the previous constructive relation of the ministry towards the Centre.
Since the Centre of Emigrants of Serbia is aiming to become a state institution, such relations towards the relevant state organ are not in favour of maintaining good relations, adds the statement.
