Backup telecommunication system in northern Kosovo-Metohija possible

Serbian Minister of Telecommunications and Information Society Aleksandra Smiljanic and head of the Kosovska Mitrovica District Momir Kasalovic met today in Kosovska Mitrovica with municipal presidents of Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Leposavic.
The Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society says in a statement that the meeting was organised because of frequent disruptions in the telecommunications system in northern Kosovo-Metohija and adds that it looked at the possibilities to introduce a backup system, expand Internet access options in the area as well as Radio Television Serbia’s signal coverage.
Apart from municipal presidents of Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Leposavic – Dragisa Milovic, Slavisa Ristic and Velimir Bojovic respectively – also present at the meeting were director of Telekom Srbija in Kosovska Mitrovica Ilija Ivanovic and director of the Serbian postal company PTT Srbija Randjel Nojkic.
Smiljanic also met with UNMIK regional administrator for northern Kosovo-Metohija Gerald Galucci at his request, adds the statement.
