Head of the International Military Cooperation Directorate at the Ministry of Defence Milorad Peric and Slovak defence attaché Colonel Frantisek Mihálik signed today a bilateral military cooperation plan for 2008.
The plan for 2008 will include a number of joint activities in Serbia and Slovakia and will pave the way for further defence cooperation.
Of particular importance is the exchange of students as the best instrument for making direct contacts and durable ties between the military forces of the two countries, according to the Ministry’s statement.
The Serbian Ministry of Defence will support the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the killing of 44 Czechoslovakian soldiers in Kragujevac, which is to take place on June 21 this year.
The Ministry also noted that the presence of Slovak military personnel within the ranks of KFOR makes a significant contribution to the preservation of peace and security in Kosovo-Metohija.
