Police arrest 192 after protest "Kosovo is Serbia"

The Serbian Ministry of Interior stated that over 500,000 people gathered at a protest rally "Kosovo is Serbia" in Belgrade yesterday during which police took all measures within their legal authorisation to protect property and safety of citizens.
There were a number of incidents that occurred on the fringes of the rally in which embassies of the US, Turkey, Croatia, UK, Belgium, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Canada were damaged. Also damaged were the McDonald’s restaurant at Slavija Square, 90 shops, a number of vehicles, street lights and signs.
After the fire in the ground floor of the US Embassy the charred body of a still unidentified person was found and then transferred to the Forensics Institute in order to establish the cause of death.
In order to maintain public order and peace, police arrested 192 persons.
130 people were injured, including 78 members of the public and 52 police officers, according to a statement.
