At those gatherings tens of thousands of people expressed their dissatisfaction with the Declaration of independence by the fictitious state of Kosovo.
During those events some buildings were damaged, among which were the US, Canadian, Slovenian, Turkish and Iranian embassies, ten McDonalds restaurants, 52 commercial premises and four buildings containing offices of political parties.
Several vehicles, as well as street lights and traffic lights were also damaged. Most of the damage was done by smaller groups of younger demonstrators.
Some 51 police officials and 34 citizens were injured during these incidents.
The Interior Ministry has appealed to all citizens, and particularly to members of sports clubs and their fans, to cooperate with the police in maintaining safety, peace and order, and to demonstrate in a peaceful manner with the dignity which befits all Serbian citizens.
