Serbian Minister of Education Zoran Loncar met today with Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Guobang and discussed the continuation and expansion of political and educational cooperation between Serbia and China.
The Ministry of Education says in a statement that Loncar and Guobang agreed that the solution to the status of Kosovo-Metohija is possible only in accordance with international law, the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
Guobang particularly emphasised that the solution to the status of Kosovo-Metohija must be a compromise between the two sides and he endorsed the Serbian government’s principled stance that there can be no legal grounds for sending an EU mission to the province without a UN Security Council decision.
Loncar and Guobang also voiced pleasure at the achieved level of cooperation between Serbia and China in all areas of education.
They also expressed readiness on behalf of their countries to sign a new three-year programme of cooperation in culture and education, as well as intensify activities within the framework of the Memorandum on Cooperation in education, signed between the Serbian and Chinese ministries of education.
