Bozidar Djelic
Djelic said at the opening of the residential facility for 76 refugees and internally displaced persons in Pancevo that these families are able to solve their housing problems with the help of the Italian government, the UN HABITAT, the Serbian government and the municipality of Pancevo.
He said that the Serbian government took a loan worth €10 million from the Council of Europe Development Bank, in order to construct 500 more such facilities.
The government has also prepared a law on social housing which will be of help in precisely such cases, explained Djelic. He added that hundreds of such facilities will be built in Serbia during the upcoming years, which will permanently solve this biggest problem faced by refugees.
The newly constructed building cost €1.5 million, of which 65% was provided by the Italian government, while the municipality of Pancevo contributed €500,000.
