Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic said today that Serbia’s aim is to sign the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) as soon as possible adding that he is authorised to sign the agreement on behalf of the government.
Djelic told news agency Beta that the EU accession and Kosovo status settlement are two separate issues and that Serbia received clear confirmation about this from the international community.
He recalled that the government of Serbia does not accept an EU mission in Kosovo without a decision of the UN Security Council, adding that SAA is above all a trade agreement of great importance for the economic development of Serbia and better life of its citizens.
As an example of EU integration benefits, the Deputy Prime Minister noted visa regime has been relaxed as of January 1 this year.
