The Serbian Ministry of Finance stated today that as a result of restrictive spending policy in 2007, instead of the projected RSD 13.7 billion deficit, the Serbian 2007 budget achieved a surplus of RSD 12.8 billion.
The statement adds that the total savings in the budget stand at RSD 26.5 billion and that expenditure was less than projected by 4.7%, that is, it stood at RSD 567.6 billion.
The revenues are lower by 0.2% and amount to RSD 580.4 billion.
The public debt at the end of 2007 is RSD 9 billion, or 29% of GDP, adds the statement and recalls that last year’s GDP was estimated at €31.4 billion.
