The meeting resulted in three concrete activities that are to be implemented, and these are that the government will reach an agreement on establishing a coordinating body for improvement of position of Roma by the end of the year, and by June 2008 it will adopt a strategy for integration and giving new powers to Roma.
Concerning the free distribution of shares to all citizens of Serbia, the third activity will be to solve the issue of personal identification papers of Roma so that they could equally participate in this process.
Also at the meeting, participants looked at preparation activities for Serbia's chairmanship over "Decade of Roma Inclusion" from June 2008 to June 2009, which includes activities for improving position of Roma.
Representatives of Roma organisations and political parties presented problems Roma are facing with in everyday life and underlined that RSD 120 million which the state sets aside in the budget for resolving their problems are insufficient.
Apart from Djelic and his social policy advisor Tinde Kovac, the meeting was also attended by President of Roma Party Srdjan Sain, president of the Roma Union of Serbia Rajko Djuric, executive director of the Roma Information Centre Rozalija Ilic, coordinator of the League for Decade of Roma Inclusion Osman Balic, director of the Service for human and minority rights Petar Ladjevic and coordinator for Roma national strategy in the Service for human and minority rights Ljuan Koka.
