The Venice Commission stated in its opinion that provisions of this draft law are in line with CoE standards and that they envisage efficient legal means for prevention of discrimination.
These provisions are in line with provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights and European Social Charter, as well as with EU directives that refer to prevention of discrimination.
The setting up of a Commission for equality protection as an independent organ for prevention of discrimination is one of the best and most important elements of this draft law.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy will do everything so that the anti-discrimination draft law is submitted to parliament for discussion as soon as possible, it is added in the statement.
