Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic pointed out today in a meeting with Romanian Minister of Defence Teodor Melescanu that Serbia opposes Kosovo’s independence and pledges for a compromised and sustainable solution acceptable for both sides.
Jeremic noted that Serbia is dedicated to democracy, freedom, rule of law and European future of the region, but the only thing we cannot do is to give up one part of our territory.
Melescanu said that Romania supports Serbia’s position on the issue of future status of Kosovo-Metohija and expressed hope that compromise will be reached.
Melescanu and Jeremic agreed that relations between Romania and Serbia are excellent and that Bucharest and Belgrade share full accordance on important issues of mutual interest, according to a statement.
