Conference on accessibility of web presentations of public importance for persons with disabilities

The Serbian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy stated that an international conference on accessibility of world wide web for persons with disabilities was opened today on the occasion of the International Day of Disabled Persons, and that it is of great public importance for disabled persons.
State Secretary Ljiljana Lucic opened the international conference "Everyone has the right to digital era" and pointed out to the importance of implementation of the EU Declaration on accessibility to electronic information, especially in the area of education and culture for persons with disabilities, which was adopted in 2006.
In its session on November 29, the government instructed all ministries and state bodies to adjust their web presentations according to needs of persons with special needs.
The conference, organised by the "Linux centre", is being attended by international experts Cynthia Waddell, Mark Urban and Emmanuelle Guiterrez Restrepo, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Society and the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government.
