According to a statement by the cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister, Killian said on the occasion that he is certain Serbia will do everything so that this event, which will gather more than 20,000 people from all over the world and is of great significance for the international image of Serbia, takes place in the best possible order.
It was established at the meeting that works on construction of the sports village in Block 67 in New Belgrade are going according to plan. The organisational committee confirmed that sports facilities in Indjija, Sremska Mitrovica, Smederevo and Pancevo will be included in the list of facilities to be used during the event.
The committee confirmed that the agreement with Varteks is not valid any more and the Universiade will announce a tender for public purchase by the end of the year which will give a chance to domestic economy, concludes the statement.
