Vojislav Kostunica
Kostunica said that he fully understands the problems of Serbian citizens who have been living in difficult conditions for a long period of time, but added that the country’s economy has been burdened by serious problems as well.
Road blocks are not the solution to economic and social problems, the Prime Minister went on to say, noting that money printing is not the solution either.
Kostunica said that the government is taking every measure available to find a long-term solution to the problems of the country’s economy, recalling that the government has already settled debts with the London Club of commercial creditors and Russia, allowing the country to secure regular gas supplies and restore the preferential tariffs for the import of Serbian sugar.
According to the Prime Minister, the government is due to submit a bill on social-economic council for parliament approval in a move that will allow the government, trade unions and employers to open a social dialogue.
