Djelic and Zhukov discussed several issues in the area of economic cooperation, such as the tender for the mining and metallurgical complex RTB Bor, privatisation of the Serbian oil industry (NIS), works at the hydroelectric power plant Djerdap, privatisation of the hydraulics and pneumatics industry Prva Petoletka and increasing the number of transport licenses for transporters from Serbia.
Zhukov announced that the list of products in the free trade agreement will be expanded and an expert delegation will arrive in Belgrade, which will hramonise the protocol on implementation of the said agreement with the Serbian government during the next week.
He stressed that Russian companies are interested in investing in the sector of energy, construction of a gas pipeline and underground gas warehouse, as well as in the privatisation of NIS.
Djelic and Zhukov agreed to organise a meeting between best students at the High School “Mathematical Gymnasium” in Belgrade and a corresponding best school in Russia.
Djelic conveyed to Zhukov that he wishes to invite Gubernator of Krasnodarski region to soon visit Serbia, and he would like to host a choir of Kozaks on the occasion.
Following the meeting, Djelic said that the two governments are examining mechanisms for providing visa relaxations to businesspeople and tourists and intensification of cultural cooperation.
Later Djelic hosted a lunch for the Russian Deputy Prime Minister and together with representatives of major Serbian building companies acquainted him with Serbia’s potentials for contributing to the construction of infrastructure for the 2014 Olympic Games.
