Opening the Regional conference of countries of south-eastern Europe "Qualifications Framework in European Higher Education Area" held in Belgrade, Loncar said that the Serbian Ministry of Education will prepare the national qualifications framework.
The success of this process requires cooperation between representatives of all educational institutions, other ministries, the National Employment Service, the Employer's Union and various social partners.
Head of the Council of Europe's Department of Higher Education and History Teaching Sjur Bergan explained that the aim of the qualifications framework is to enable mobility and advanced training possibilities to students from the Bologna Declaration signatory countries, in a an area that is wider than their original education system.
Bergan told participants in the conference that in order to create a single European labour market, it is very important to establish regional cooperation and adopt positive experiences from others.
A national qualifications framework is an official recognition valid on the labour market, which gives the legal right to perform a certain profession.
At the ministerial conference in Bergen held in 2005, Serbia committed itself to adopt a national qualifications framework, harmonised with the European framework, by the end of 2010.
