Serbian Minister without Portfolio in charge of implementing the National Investment Plan (NIP) Dragan Djilas said today that part of the ring-road around Belgrade from the Ibar highway to Ostruznica will be completed by November 2008, and a sum of RSD 1.5 billion will be provided for this purpose.

During a tour of the construction works, Djilas said that funds envisaged for the ring-road have been doubled; originally the sum was nearly RSD 721 million.
He recalled that a further RSD 300 million were allocated from the NIP for this project, and the same amount was set aside from the Belgrade City budget, while an additional RSD 158 million was provided from the Serbian budget.
Director of the public road company Putevi Srbije Branko Jocic said that the part of the ring-road which will link the Ibar highway with Dobanovci could be completed by the end of July next year, if funds are provided in time.
Acting Mayor of Belgrade Zoran Alimpic said that in 2008 additional funds will be envisaged for NIP projects in the city budget.
Alimpic said that setting aside funds from the city budget for NIP projects will not have a negative effect on works on infrastructure and reconstruction underway in Belgrade.
