Advisor to the Serbian Prime Minister Milan Parivodic said today that the Draft law on denationalisation is based on great compromises between legitimate interests of owners of property, its current users and the state.
Parivodic said at that roundtable "Professional Public on the Working Version of the Draft Law on Denationalisation" that certain limitations had to be set in this document, such as the highest amount that can be given to owners and beyond which they should be offered compensation in kind.
Economist Dragan Djuricin said that it is a good proposal that funds for compensation for owners of property should be provided by issuing treasury bonds, but underlined that a special law should be adopted to allow that.
Djuricin said that the total value of the property that is to be returned to real owners is above €4 billion.
