Serbian Minister of Science Ana Pesikan met today in France with French Minister of Higher Education and Research Valérie Pécresse to discuss the signing of an agreement on cooperation in science and technology between France and Serbia.
Pesikan told journalists that such a document would be of great importance and recalled that France and Serbia are currently cooperating on two programmes.
Pesikan participated in the round table on science organised as part of the session of the 34th UNESCO General Conference in Paris and pointed out that mobility of scientists in Serbia is the current issue as it refers to the crucial problem of brain drain.
We cannot offer excellent conditions to our students living abroad but we can develop various forms of cooperation so that they could cooperate with Serbian scientists, she said.
One of the topics was connection of science and higher education, and the Serbian minister noted that university professors are also research workers.
Pesikan met with representatives of UNESCO Sector for Education and OECD representatives, who offered great support to Serbia for its science development strategy.
