Accreditation of faculties and universities among priority tasks

Serbian Minister of Education Zoran Loncar stated today that apart from preserving the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, accreditation of faculties and universities is among the government’s priority tasks.
Loncar said that parliament’s independent bodies, the committes for accrediation and quality control, are in charge of accreditation.
The Minister announced that the Ministry will initiate amendments to the Law on higher education with a view of more successful implementation of the Bologna process in Serbia.
President of the National Council for Higher Education Srdjan Stankovic said that attenntion should focus on international cooperation and harmonisation with European standards so that Serbia could join the European space of higher education by 2010.
