State Secretary of Health Tomislav Stantic pointed out that Japan is the biggest donor to the Serbian health sector.
Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Tadashi Nagai said that Japan so far implemented 96 projects of support to Serbia, including 45 designated for the health sector, noting that the value of those projects is close to €3 million.
Director of the Serbian Clinical Centre Vojko Djukic said that clinical centres in Belgrade, Nis, Novi Sad and Kragujevac will be reconstructed in the upcoming period, noting that the Serbian Clinical Centre should become comfortable, well-organised and cost efficient by 2011 or 2012.
Director of the Institute for Pulmonary Diseases and Tuberculosis Dragana Jovanovic said that the equipment donated by the government of Japan is of great importance for faster diagnosis and added that this almost rounds up the needs of this institute.
