The Serbian Ministry of Finance stated that yesterday in Belgrade, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) began regular consultations with representatives of the ministry and the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) which will last until November 7.
The statement adds that the talks with IMF representatives will concern economic movements, monetary and fiscal policies, as well as the implementation of structural reforms in Serbia.
Following consultations, the IMF Executive Board will assess the economic situation in Serbia and monetary policy measures implemented.
Pursuant to Article 4 of the IMF Statute, IMF member states are obliged to perform regular consultations once a year, adds the statement and recalls that previous consultations were held in July 2006.
