Also on the visit will be deputy president of the Coordinating Body and State Secretary for regional development Verica Kalanovic.
The US Deputy Chief of Mission will visit USAID’s projects in Vranje, Bujanovac and Presevo.
Since it was established in 2000, the Coordinating Body has had an excellent cooperation with USAID. The current project is water supply system in the village of Konculj, one of infrastructure priorities in the municipality of Bujanovac.
Djurdjevic said that the Coordinating Body will intensify cooperation with foreign governments and international donor organisations that are present in the south of Serbia.
He recalled that successful cooperation with USAID was carried out also through their local self-government reform programmes, greater participation of citizens in project planning and implementation and local economic development projects.
Also, successful cooperation was implemented with UNDP on MIR programme, which is financed by the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR).
He announced that priorities for the Coordinating Body in the upcoming period will be cooperation with these organisations and municipal officials on planning priority projects and not only co-financing.
According to him, more attention will be given to inclusion of civic sector, media and NGOs, in the work of this body with the aim of establishing sustainable development.
