The Serbian Ministry of Diaspora stated today that Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic and Minister of Diaspora Milica Cubrilo will meet next week with representatives of the US institutions, including the governor of the state of Illinois, American of Serbian origin Rod Blagojevich.
Blagojevich is very popular in the numerous Serbian diaspora in Chicago because of his origin. The upcoming meeting will deal with possibilities of establishing cooperation between Serbia and the state of Illinois and ways and forms of connecting in the scientific, economic and cultural sense.
The delegation of the Ministry of Diaspora, headed by Minister Milica Cubrilo and Secretary of the Ministry Bojan Djuric will travel to the city of Ann Arbour on October 22 and 23, to visit company “Ksoran” which manufactures medical scanners.
Owners and founders of this company are Serbs, Predrag Sukovic and Misa Rakic, who are interested in cooperation and investments in Serbia and plan to move part of their business activities to Serbia, so one of the topics of the meeting will be outsourcing from the US to Serbia.
Cubrilo will also talk with representatives of the Serbian Cultural Centre in Chicago, of diaspora associations and all its segments that want to get included into economic and cultural development of Serbia through exchange of knowledge and experiences. They will also visit monasteries Nova Gracanica and Saint Sava.
