Djelic stressed the importance which the Serbian government attributes to fighting corruption and reforming the judiciary and announced its intention to strengthen the legislative anticorruption framework.
The OSCE delegation was told that Serbia intensified its efforts in reforming the judiciary and both sides agreed that huge success has been achieved in strengthening independent regulating agencies, but also that this process should be continued as regards executive authorities, as well as the responsibility towards the broader public and Serbian parliament.
Brichambaut voiced pleasure at the dynamics of the reform implementation process and Serbia’s upcoming legislative plan of activities, particularly regarding the fulfilment of obligations stemming from its membership in the OSCE.
The OSCE delegation endorsed speedy initialling and signing of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement and stressed that success in this field will contribute to the process of establishing democratic institutions in Serbia.
