The session was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic and was attended by representatives of the ministries in charge, government agencies, Property Directorate, Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities and representatives of Vojvodina authorities.
The session discussed a new package of laws that should resolve accumulated property relations as well as measures concerning efficient and responsible problem solving related to Serbian Army property.
The session also concerned the issue of returning public property to local authorities that should be in charge of its management.
Djelic pointed out that solving property issues stems from the new Constitution and that these problems represent the main barrier for investment growth and therefore the government will submit a package of laws regulating these issues in line with European standards by the end of February 2008.
A working group was formed and relevant legal experts will be asked for their opinion before any of these laws are passed.
