Addressing the participants of the conference for whom he organised a reception, Djelic said that this conference is the greatest event in Serbia since the October 5 democratic changes bearing in mind the number of participants, quality of topics and opportunities it opens to Serbia.
He said that the "Environment for Europe" is a topic of the 21st century because the effects of climate changes are increasingly visible and economic growth affects the environment.
Djelic said that a national strategy of sustainable development will be adopted in February next year.
UNDP director for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States Kori Udovicki welcomed the participants and said that the environmental issue is at the core of the concept of further development and growth of the global society.
The reception was attended by many international and domestic officials, representatives of non-governmental organisations and Serbian public figures.
