The organising committee for the 2009 Summer Universiade in Belgrade, with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic as chair held a session today.
The session focused on annulment of the contract with Varazdin-based Varteks signed with Universiade Belgrade 2009.
The organising committee dismissed executive director Srdjan Boskovic and appointed Zoran Jovanovic as director.
Jovanovic was deputy of the secretary for sports in the City of Belgrade. During his mandate, the construction of the Belgrade Arena was completed.
It was agreed to organise a meeting in cooperation with the Deputy Prime Minister's Office and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS), which will also gather representatives of best textile companies from Serbia.
The meeting will have two objectives – to find a sponsor for the Universiade and to present business opportunities of the Universiade, which will be carried out through a transparent tender procedure with subsidies for domestic companies, which is in line with the Law on public procurements.
