Belgrade, July 17, 2004 –Dejan Milenkovic a.k.a. “Bagzi”, suspected of involvement in the assassination of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, has been arrested in Thessalonica, following the cooperation of the Serbian police and the Greek police, the Serbian Interior Ministry stated.
Interior Ministry members set the exact location of Milenkovic and reported it to the special department of the District Court in Belgrade. The Interior Ministry members were in constant contact with the Greek police, the statement further reads.
Last night, at 22:30, Assistant Minister and Head of Public Security Department General-Major Miroslav Milosevic issued a written order that all border crossings, particularly those with Macedonia, should be carefully monitored. Concrete data were forwarded to the Greek Interpol.
The Greek police arrested Milenkovic around midnight. Milenkovic will be extradited to Serbian authorities after all legal procedures are completed, reads the statement.
