Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic said today that Serbia should become an instiitonally and ecomonically develooped country within ten years, with infrastructure according to EU standards, economy based on know-how, rich human resources and preserved environemnt.
In a public discussion on sustainable development in Sombor, Djelic presented the national sustanable development strategy, which is a document with a balanced relation between the ecology and economy.
The main aim of the strategy is to provide sustainable economic growth, sustainable social development and enviromental protection.
The campaign that was lauched in Sombor today will continue in another 15 cities of Serbia.
The strategy wil be discussed by the government and its implementation should start in early 2008. the strategy is available at

The drafting of the strategy began in 2005 with the support of the UNDP and Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
