The Serbian Ministry of Health stated today that within the framework of the 57th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe, which is being held in Belgrade from September 17 to 20, a bilateral meeting between representatives of the health ministries of Serbia and Hungary also took place.
According to the statement, the subject of the meeting was intensification of cooperation in areas of special significance and interest for both ministries, such as financing primary and hospital health care, development of additional health insurance and improvement of public health.
The importance of intensifying activities for strengthening border control against infectious diseases and preparation for emergency situations was stressed upon on the occasion.
Agreement was reached at the meeting that a delegation of the Hungarian Health Ministry will soon visit the Serbian Health Ministry, whose representatives visited Budapest in January 2006, concludes the statement.
