The aim of the project is to acquaint local experts and managers with successful examples of ecological clean-up and modernisation in the production of coal and energy in Germany, through lectures, workshops, roundtables and establishment of contacts.
The main topics of the project, which will be implemented before December 2008, will be discussed at five roundtables, and these are planning in the mining industry, the process of social restructuring in the regions with the mining and energy sectors, clean-up of mines and closing of open-pit mines, legal framework of the European Union for mining and environmental protection and modernisation of work and technology in thermal electric power plants.
The main sponsors are German agency for international advanced training and development (InVEnt) and the agency for the future of Brandenburg. On the German side, the mining academy from Freiberg and Vattenfall company are also included in the project, and on the Serbian side, representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Mining, the Electric Power Industry of Serbia and the Belgrade Faculty of Mining and Geology.
